Social BloggingWe have seen the shows where Ty and his crew come in and give a family an entire new house, or the earlier versions where neighbors would swap houses and give each a home makeover . Did you know that Extreme Home Makeover on ABC receives approximately 100,000 videos and entries every week for their show. For most of us that do not have a hard ship story, this is long shot to win a home makeover. Now you can have a chance to earn your own home makeover, by simply providing your name and email to be entered into a drawing. While you are signing up, you can also research some ideas on remodeling your home. You can add significant value to your existing home by remodeling a few key areas that will return your money if you should need to sell.
The major areas that provide the most value when it’s time to sell are the kitchen and bathrooms. At Ultimate Home Makeover, they provide some great resources and tips on what areas to focus and where to go to find ideas. Some of the suggestions are to replace windows, and what types of window you should look o to purchase. So instead of waiting for Ty Pennington to stand on your front yard, and yell ” Good Morning, Smith Family” create your own luck and enter for free.

TechnologyThere are a many sites that offer free link popularity checks for your URL. Why is it so important to have sites that link into you? Google and other search engines appear to be placing more value on links that are coming into a site, than they used too. It used to be that optimizing keywords and enhancing your meta tags would help. While the keywords and their placement is still critical I have seen articles that meta tags may not hold that much weight. Remember though that you want to be linked too quality sites, so if you are linking to sites that have been blacklisted by Google and other search engines, you will only hurt your chances of getting ranked higher in search engines for your keywords and topics.

TechnologyThere is a great commercial here in the states that is about competing broadband providers. It shows a husband and wife that are turtles and they are shown complaining that there internet is too fast. So the wife asks the husband to push the computer away from the house to reduce the speed of their internet connection. They are trying to make the case that cable internet is better and faster than DSL. This is true in my opinion and you can certainly tell in videos and other heavy graphics. More and more companies are placing video and other flash animation in their sites to attract and retain more customers. The days of surfing the internet for just information are gone and it is now an entertainment vehicle.
The competition here in the US is starting to pick up but over across the pond broadband internet has been around much longer and therefore has become much cheaper than here in the states. There are companies where you can compare broadband providers to help you choose the right plan and company to fit your needs. As more people upgrade their laptops and PCs they are going to want their internet to keep up with the high speed processors. This is something that dial up cannot offer and broadband is offering more features like video on demand.

BloggingI just the news release that the Seattle Mariners signed Ichiro to contract extension worth $100 million dollars. I am not sure how you arrive at a fair market value for a particular position in baseball, but $100 million dollars. Now don’t get me wrong Ichiro is a great baseball player and this was evident by his performance in the 2007 All-Star game. But they are paying some one a lot of money that only hits the ball 3 out 10 times at the plate. If you or I were only 30% productive at work we may not have a job. I guess I should have stuck with baseball when I was a kid.

MarketingOne of the other forms of online marketing that we have been successful at has been growing Page rank and seach engine ranking. For some keywords you can buy text links and this can help increase your position in search engines. We have approached this avenue but we have also found that by adding content to our blog and finding interesting companies to write about has also helped to increase our rankings. The other key thing that we have found to be beficial is writing nice articles with links back to our site and submit those articles to various submission sites. This has been a great way to attract new customers. There are many ways to increase your rankings and customers, but if you do not provide a compelling story or reason for them to explore your blog or webpage then you have missed the opportunity to make the most out of your marketing dollars.

EducationGoing back to school and earning your advanced degree has become much easier thanks in part to universities like Capellas. Earning your distance learning degree is as easy as being able to get online and then completing assignments through an online university. Well ok, you still must participate in classroom interaction and you are still earning a grade on your work. The online degree is becoming more popular thank in part to ease of access and affordability. Plus the faculty that are now participating in the classes as instructors helped to bring real life experience to the role, other than just academia.

For many Americans eating right and keeping within their idea body weight is difficult. We are a society of fast food and high carb intake. So to try and diet without changing the way you eat can be a huge task. There are hundreds of diet and weight loss programs out there and each one depends on your situation on how well you will respond. The key to any diet plan is to stick with it and exercise. With the new launch of Alli by GSK, they have introduced and over the counter weight loss pill that was originally by prescription only. And this marks one of the first times that such a switch from prescription to over the counter has there been such a huge push to the consumer. What most people need to realize is that a pill will not help you loose weight by itself. You may see some short term results, but your overall health and well being will not change unless you take steps to make those changes permanently.

For many people today health care is major issue and will play a big part in next years presidential election. We had the opportunity to review Airambulance.net a
air ambulance service that provides special health care services for patients. So what exactly is an air ambulance and why would you even need to seek one out. Air Ambulance provides chartered flights for patients that need constant medical attention when being transported from the hospital to home or vice versa. It sort of reminds of the scene in the movie “Airplane” where they are transporting the organ donor patient and the organ they are going to be placing in the patient is kept in a cooler. If you remember the scene it is quit comical, but sad but true.
At Airambulance.net teams consist of certified nurses, EMTs, and Board certified flight physicians. Patients that are needing to be hooked to be a respirator full time can have the convenience of a respiratory therapist on board for any emergencies. This service is available world wide and the team can be dispatched wherever the patient is located and needs to be taken. With some of the more high risk surgeries that are available over seas some patients are seeking commercial flights across the world and then may find that their commercial flight may not be that accommodating to their condition. So instead of having to recoup in a foreign land they can find the assistance of Air Ambulance to provide their medical transportation. Air Ambulance helps to provide a central hub for information about air ambulance services that are available in all 50 states.

TechnologyI recently went down to our local AT&T store to check out the new iPhone that has been in the news. After playing with the device I was sure that this was my next phone. I am not usually one to jump on the technology that has been just released but I must say the features and ease of use of this phone is incredible. My other question was since this is supposed to be internet friendly and we are able to watch YouTube videos how much extra were the services going to be. Luckily they have thought this part through and the iPhone has it’s own plans with unlimited web and email. The plans are comparable to their standard plans with just a few less minutes. But with their roll over minutes and the fact that everyone who I call that is on the AT&T network don’t count towards my minutes this make for a great buy.

TechnologyA new search engine called Search Big Daddy, has launched within the last month, where they award their users in PPC credits to do searches. You can use their search engine and then earn credits to purchase various keyword searches for your own website. We originally posted about this back in the fall of 2006 and the splash was not as big as we thought. They are trying to compete with the likes of Yahoo and Google.
