Pope Arrested?
After all of these sexual allegations made by people across the world in various countries including the United States, Italy, and even Germany, British author, Richard Dawson wants Pope Benedict arrested to face questioning about the church covering up cases of sexual abuse by priests in the catholic church.
This subject is a touchy one to say the least. Many people are supporters of the catholic church and will find it offensive to question, let alone arrest a priest. But the Pope? That is unthinkable! The Pope who is doing God’s work, many people believe, should not have to be interrogated by police. Others would probably say that the Pope is only human and can make mistakes like any other human being.
However, the answer to this might be much easier than people think. Arresting the Pope may not be necessary. Why don’t the police just go to where the Pope is and ask him questions on location? This way the police can get the answers they seek without putting the Pope through all the stress of an arrest and interrogation.
When asked questions by the police in this manner would the Pope lie? I would certainly hope not! Since the ninth commandment tells us to: “not give false testimony against your neighbor.” In other words, do not lie.
I think that this kind of questioning is an acceptable compromise. What do you think? Let us know by leaving us a comment.
